QuuGan Intelligent Water Gauge

A water gauge is a ruler used to measure the water level in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and irrigation channels. It is also used to observe changes in groundwater levels and ocean tides. Observing an artificial water gauge is an important means for navigators to obtain water levels. However, each observation requires a professional to be on site, which is inconvenient, subject to environmental influence, and has a certain degree of danger and workload. Due to the inherent defects of traditional water gauge monitoring technology, monitoring efficiency is low, seriously affecting the development of our lives and industrial production towards digitization, intelligence, and networking. To solve this problem, based on previous work experience, we proposed the concept of active visual design, which creatively redesigns the water gauge and applies image sensing devices on an embedded platform to simulate human eyes, providing a new approach for intelligent water level measurement.

The intelligent water gauge recognition system is closely integrated with our proprietary cloduing video system. It obtains real-time video from the cameras facing the water gauge in the video system, performs scheduled analysis, obtains the water level height, records the recognition results, and publishes water level data after manual or automatic verification. It can also be linked and displayed with existing automatic water level management systems.

This product combines practicality and innovation. Traditional upright water gauges require close observation by personnel, which is somewhat dangerous, and the data accuracy is low, with a large margin of error. If all water gauges are manually observed, it consumes a lot of labor and efficiency is low. Our product uses video automatic recognition technology and intelligent recognition algorithms to monitor changes in groundwater level and ocean tidal level through intelligent visual analysis. On the one hand, through intelligent recognition algorithms, observation is more convenient, reducing the manpower consumption of relevant departments and making it easier to obtain water level data. On the other hand, intelligent camera recognition of water level can achieve 360-degree all-round water level observation, with more accurate detection results.

This product has been applied at dozens of locations along rivers with high quality feedbacks and won innovation award. It has taken a solid step towards realizing automatic and digital water level monitoring.
